We appreciate that moving in to a residential care home, and living with people that you don't yet know, can be daunting and scary. It always seems impossible until it is done. At Clover Cottage care home all residents continue to live a fulfilled, meaningful and happy life, but with the comforting support from our care team when, and if, they need it. Our objective is to provide day-to-day activities that all residents will love, that will shape their daily life (care plan), and promote their sense of independence and enjoyment.
Once in the home you, or your loved one, will soon make friends with our team of staff, and our other residents, as you become part of the extended Clover Cottage family.
Within Clover Cottage we have seven bedrooms located on the ground floor and nine on the first floor, these are accessed by a lift. We also have a stairlift, which can be used in emergencies. Each bedroom is delightfully decorated and furnished. Residents are encouraged to bring their own treasured possessions and some small items of furniture with them, when they move in, so they can settle into their new home effortlessly. For example, please bring along treasured photographs, ornaments, and favourite books, CDs, DVDs etc.

We encourage residents to continue with their much-loved hobbies and interests. We ensure that residents lead an active lifestyle with as much independence as possible. By feeling useful and fully charged, residents have the freedom and confidence to engage in every-day activities. Our trained staff are skilled to provide therapeutic activities, and where possible outings and events will be organised for all residents, as well as celebration parties for birthdays and anniversaries. Every resident of Clover Cottage is unique and seen as an individual. We fully appreciate that a lifetime of experiences; families, work, hobbies and relationships shape each person’s character. And so we tailor each person’s Clover Cottage experience to them, and it is a pleasure getting to know our residents. We encourage our staff to sit and chat to residents , as conversation is very important and loneliness can be as devastating (on wellbeing) as a serious illness.
Our approach is to support our residents and their welfare is paramount, whether it is physical, psychological, cultural or social wellbeing. Our team members are carefully selected and receive regular training in all aspects of care. The owner of Clover Cottage, Mr Tim Magon, visits every day; where possible, and his father is also a resident of Clover Cottage – Clover Cottage is not just a business it's an extended family, and a community.
Clover Cottage doesn’t feel or smell medical, it just feels homely like you are living in a large detached characterful home. From the kitchen comes the lovely smell of freshly prepared home made foods being baked in the oven, and then comes the call "would you like a cuppa and some biscuits?” The TV is on in the lounge and residents are sat comfortably, either watching their favourite shows or undertaking therapeutic activities such as crafts and house games. The room is split in half by a large fireplace in the middle, which adds warmth to the room, and in either section is a television; giving residents more choice as to what they would like to watch.
The cosy and traditional TV lounge leads on to a large warm day room, which is also used as a dining room, from where the residents can enjoy views of our pretty rear garden, which also has outdoor seating for relaxing in (when the English weather allows!).
