Cognitive activities

For our residents who have dementia we provide specialised activities, which engage and stimulate. We also protect the peace and quiet of those who do not wish to participate.

Our community

Every resident of Clover Cottage is unique and seen as an individual. We fully appreciate that a lifetime of experiences; families, work, hobbies and relationships shape each person’s character. And so we tailor each person’s Clover Cottage experience to them, and it is a pleasure getting to know our residents. We encourage our staff to sit and chat to residents, as conversation is very important and loneliness can be as devastating (on wellbeing) as a serious illness.

Our approach is to support our residents and their welfare is paramount, whether it is physical, psychological, cultural or social wellbeing. Our team members are carefully selected and receive regular training in all aspects of care. The owner of Clover Cottage, Mr Tim Magon, visits every day; where possible, and his father is also a resident of Clover Cottage – Clover Cottage is not just a business it's an extended family, and a community.

Clover Cottage doesn’t feel or smell medical, it just feels homely like you are living in a large detached characterful home. From the kitchen comes the lovely smell of freshly prepared home made foods being baked in the oven, and then comes the call "would you like a cuppa and some biscuits?” The TV is on in the lounge and residents are sat comfortably, either watching their favourite shows or undertaking therapeutic activities such as crafts and house games. The room is split in half by a large fireplace in the middle, which adds warmth to the room, and in either section is a television; giving residents more choice as to what they would like to watch.

The cosy and traditional TV lounge leads on to a bright conservatory, which is also used as a dining room, from where the residents can enjoy views of our pretty rear garden, which also has outdoor seating for relaxing in (when the English weather allows!).
