At our residential care home we aim to provide you with the best support and advice when making this life-changing decision, so that if you decide Clover Cottage is the right choice for you, our team can work with you to assess your requirements. We will make sure your living environment is arranged so that the highest possible quality of life and care is achieved.

Your care

Your care plan will be devised depending on you or your loved one's specific needs. Our residents’ care plans range from minimum assistance to around-the-clock support.

What sets us apart is our personal touch, when say we want to get to know you – we really mean it! We are a small care home, with only 16 rooms, and this makes Clover Cottage residential care home feel far more intimate, than many larger corporate care homes.

At Clover Cottage we believe in providing regular on-going training to all staff, so that they are fully equipped to provide the highest standard of care to our residents. The training programme includes high dependency needs, dementia awareness, palliative care and end of life care.

Dementia care

As we get older it’s normal to find that our memory is not what it used to be. But dementia is a specific syndrome of related symptoms such as; decline in ability to think, understand, make judgements, articulate and remember things. Often those affected will experience trouble controlling their emotions or behaving appropriately, especially in social situations.

Residents suffering from dementia, and other forms of cognitive illness, need a very specialised high quality program of care. We are here to help reduce the pressure on you or your loved ones – we are safe, experienced hands.

Our history and knowledge with dementia gives us an advantage. We take care of all residents with the compassion and understanding they deserve. At Clover Cottage residential care home, we treat each resident as an individual and create an environment for them that will help overcome the frustrations that can be associated with mental health.

Delicious fresh food

All meals are cooked/prepared daily at Clover Cottage, and where possible, using fresh ingrediants. Our residents can choose their meal options on a day-by-day basis from a varied menu. We aim to ensure residents’ dietary requirements are provided for through a well balanced diet, and we cater for individual tastes and dietary requirements, such as diabetes.

During meal times we sometimes have relaxing music playing in the background. Plus, to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other special/cultural occasions, our cook/s prepare fantastic party-type meals and cakes.

Relatives are also welcome and encouraged to join residents for lunch at the home. We appreciate the importance of companionship on wellbeing.

Respite care and short breaks

Carers/Family we appreciate the fantastic job you are doing looking after your loved one/s, and we also know being a carer can be both physically and emotionally demanding and exhausting.

At Clover Cottage, we offer respite care so that you can take a much-needed break while your friend, partner or relative enjoys a friendly, stimulating stay with us. Respite care can be arranged for anything from one night to a few weeks.

Prior and during any respite care period we provide support and personal assistance – just let us know how we can help.

Honestly, please do not feel guilty about taking some timeout from the loved one you care for. This break will allow you to re-build yourself, relax and de-stress, and that means it can be both beneficial to you and the one you care for. Many of our respite residents love it so much at Clover Cottage – they don't want to leave! Clover Cottage quickly feels like home and they love the companionship and new friendships that they form.

Our registered team, lead by manager Kevin Ian Johnson, prides itself on delivering the best possible standards of care. Clover Cottage staff provide accessible and compassionate personal care 24-hours a day. The support we give is focused, correct and delivered to help you, your friends and your family to deal with any changes you may face throughout your stay with us.
